I work as an Internet representative and my typing skills are only mediocre. Isn't it ironic? Ususally there is one word that I misspell repeatedly. Most days it is "unfortunately" - which is unfortunate. More irony. Some days it is "inconvenient" - which is quite inconvenient.
Today it is not a particular word, but rather a space. I know what you're thinking. I know that the space bar is the largest key on the keyboard. Maybe that is the problem. My anxious thumbs, which are smaller than most, are constantly jumping for it. Perhaps it is because I use longer words, leaving longer spans of idle time for my smallest digits. In any case, I continually hit the space bar too early, resulting in misspelle dwords. This is the WORST, as it cannot be automatically corrected by spell check.
It is especially detrimental when the two halves of the poorly spaced phrase are real words. If you are not careful you may change the entire tone of a message the way that I did tonight when instead of typing "does not" I typed "doe snot" (as in a female deer with a sinus problem), and did not realize it until it was too late.
I wonder how many times I have done that?
