Day One: The Long haul to Ford in a Kia

In preparation for our Fall 08 roadtrip, Bryan and I deccided to divide our snacks into individual servings, so as to make them easier to eat on the road. After almost two boxes of baggies, we were ready. Actually, if we extended our vacation for a month I think we would still have more than enough food to survive. The cheese puffs and candy corn are not mine. Really.

So, snacks (and every piece of clothing we have) in tow, we hit the road. The drive through Illinois was uneventful - and familiar given my weekend trip to Chicago. Veering off into Indiana, we tried to snap a picture of the sign welcoming us. It passed very quickly -
Finally we reached Michigan. Our hotel was great! It was a Residence Inn and was like a small apartment. Bryan was surprised...

There was silverware in the drawers, dishes in the cabinet, microwave popcorn and a dishwasher.

Unfortunately we were too tired to partake in any of these luxuries. We slept.

This place looks pretty nice! Too bad you couldn't throw a dinner party there, as it looks spacious!

Also, that is a hell of an amount of food!

The food pics are hysterical and yet very handy I'd think! I have the same blurry Indiana picture - no advance warning on that one.

What in the hell do you do to pass the time in the car?
